Bangalore suffered a lot yesterday, no thanks to a political rally organized by JD(S). Reports indicate that North Bangalore came to a standstill for hours on end with traffic snarls and jammed roads. Apparently school children were the most affected with most of them leaving their schools in the afternoon but reaching home well after dark – some reaching home as late as 10pm! Commuters were stranded for over 5 hours on the road. Imagine the plight of children stuck inside a bus for 5 hours without access to food, water or toilets. As if everyday traffic in Bangalore is not a punishment enough…

And to top this, HDK of the infamous Gowda duo has the gall to justify it. My blood boils at this brazen attitude of Indian politicians. What is meant as a ’show of strength’ – the reason behind such rallies will be counter productive in the long run. HDK may well dismiss the flak his party got as gripes from the well-heeled but the common man suffered a lot too.
But then, when have Indian politicians seen beyond today or this week? Such an attitude from the politicians smacks of ‘dare stop me from doing this’ (I am sure Mr. Raj Thackeray feels the same way too). Bloody low lifes.

India a Super Power by 2020… by 2050!!! I mean its like the movie Love Story 2050!!! I remember 1 more movie, Rang De Basanti… the friends talking about India and Indians over a drink. “You try to change the system, the sysytem will in turn change you”. Very true dialog is it not? These politicians, irrespective of parties, are the same. They just do not care about us. In this case the desperation of being out of power clearly shows. SM Krishna had a dream to make Bangalore into a Shanghai. Nothing happened except that Bangalore got changed to Bengaluru… There are similar situations in states like Kerala and WB. Kids often have to go to schools on saturdays, full day! Reason: Some or the other Harthal or Bandh on one of the week days! And these kids fight with parents on not willing to go to schools. I guess anyone can go on and on, on this topic!
how many people where there at this rally? they should have smaller local rallies. politics is about changing lives for the better not showing strength. nothing was done for the community by this waste of time, petrol and money. all 3 in short supply. if he cares so much for village kids why not use the cash to ferrry so many villagers instead to send at least some kids to school by bus or part of the way for a few days? or other direct act
